WHEN IS FATHERS DAY?

When is Father's Day? Here is everything you need to know
Summer is almost here, as is a date important enough for all dads. You guessed it: we are talking about Father's Day. Although most sons and daughters do not need a specific date to celebrate the most important man in their lives, every father in the country has a special day on the calendar. With the better weather, you're probably already planning a weekend with your father's famous grilled recipes and refreshing cocktails, but you'll want to do a little more than just fill your father with his favorite food and drink. (But hey, that's not a bad way to start!) It was never imagined like that, but the annual vacation can be surprisingly stressful when you're supposed to find the perfect gift for Father's Day from the guy who insists that he does not need anything. (And let's be honest, sometimes a single card does not cut it.)

So, when exactly is Father's Day?
Before you begin to wonder what your father would have to do for his day, you can relax a little, because you still have enough time to plan the special meal or make a gift to make for daddy. This year, Father's Day arrives on Sunday, June 16th.

Wait, does Father's Day have the same date every year?
Now, do not feel bad if this date is new to you as the celebration changes from day to year. If you ever forget, remember that Father's Day always falls on the third Sunday of June, and check the calendar accordingly.
Now, what's the story of Father's Day?
Unlike Mother's Day, which has rather dark origins, Father's Day has relatively light roots - and was created by a woman. According to History.com, in 1909, a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd "attempted to establish an official equivalent of Mother's Day for male parents". She went to local businesses to gain support for her idea, and on June 19, 1910, Washington State celebrated the first-ever Father's Day.
